Microneedling Aftercare: The 7-Day Skin Reset

Microneedling aftercare is straightforward, but the first 72 hours are critical for healing and results. Treat your skin like it just had a controlled mini-injury — because it did.

    First 24 hours

Skin will look red, like a moderate sunburn. Use only gentle, hydrating products — hyaluronic acid serum and a bland moisturizer. Skip makeup, sunscreen with chemical filters, and any active ingredients.

    Days 2–3

Redness fades. Skin may feel tight and slightly rough. Mineral SPF is essential — your skin is highly sun-sensitive. Keep skincare extremely simple.

    Days 4–7

Light flaking is normal — don't pick. You can usually resume makeup at day 3 and most active skincare (vitamin C, gentle exfoliants) at day 5–7. Wait until day 7 to reintroduce retinoids.

    Beyond week 1

Collagen remodeling continues for 4–6 weeks. Final results are usually visible 4 weeks after each session, with best outcomes after a series of 3–6.
