Day 1
Apply cold compresses 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off for the first few hours. Sleep with your head elevated. Skip alcohol, salt, ibuprofen, and aspirin. Mild swelling, redness, and small bumps are normal.
Days 2–3
Most of the bruising will appear within 48 hours. Arnica gel or oral arnica may help. Avoid pressure on the area, including facials, dental work, and tight masks. You can resume gentle exercise.
Days 4–7
Swelling continues to resolve. Bruising fades. You can resume retinoids, exfoliants, and most skincare. If you're going to a wedding or big event, plan filler 2+ weeks before.
Week 2 and beyond
Filler is fully integrated by ~2 weeks. Any lumps you still feel should be evaluated — most resolve with gentle massage, but persistent issues are easily corrected.
FAQ
Should I massage my filler?+
Don't massage unless your provider specifically tells you to. Most modern fillers don't require massage and can shift if pressed too hard.
When can I drink alcohol after filler?+
Wait at least 24 hours — ideally 48. Alcohol thins the blood and significantly increases bruising risk.
When can I fly after filler?+
Most providers say wait 48–72 hours. Pressure changes don't damage filler but can worsen swelling, especially in lip filler.
